Season 2 of Kaiju No. 8, the long-awaited return of one of last year’s most thrilling action anime series, premiered on Crunchyroll on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with new episodes streaming weekly. The series follows Kafka Hibino, voiced by Masaya Fukunishi (Japanese) and Nazeeh Tarsha (English), a defense officer and worker at a professional kaiju cleaning company who gains shapeshifting abilities after a kaiju encounter.

Thanks to Isao Shinomiya, Kafka Hibino avoids being turned into a weapon. As new recruits head to their posts, Kafka meets Gen Narumi, the strongest man in the Defense Force and leader of the First Division. Kafka embraces the power of Kaiju No. 8 to force Gen to recognize his strength. Meanwhile, Kaiju No. 9 lurks in the shadows as the greatest threat the Defense Force has faced awaits.
The Beat caught up with Nazeeh Tarsha (English voice actor of Kafka Hibino in Kaiju No.8) at Anime Expo 2025. We chat about what odd jobs he has had, what it means to be at AX, the humor in the show and much more!
