On August 11th, IDW Publishing announced an exclusive distribution of YouTuber CoryxKenshin‘s action-horror manga series, Monsters We Make volume 1, to North American stores and online retailers on October 28th, 2025. This comes not too long after the first volume sold over 200,000 copies in fall 2024 directly to consumers through pre-orders and standard online orders. The IDW print will feature an exclusive retail-only cover before volumes 2 and 3 release in 2026, both debuting first on the Monster We Make official site. Each installment will feature an exclusive retail-only cover as well once they are published to print by IDW Publishing.

CoryXKenshin is one of a number of popular YouTube personalities to get in the comics space of late. He has  21.5 million YouTube channel subscribers and 8.5 billion cumulative video views.

Monsters We Make fuses manga and western comics traditions based on CoryxKenshin’s background and creative vision. In manga fashion, it reads from right to left. The story synopsis:

For Jabari Booker, New Edyn Academy promised a future of music and mastery. But on his first day, that promise shatters into a nightmare. As he’s dragged deeper into the abyss, he realizes that true horror awaits at the end of the broken road. To survive, he must battle not only New Edyn’s monsters but also the corruption festering within its walls.
“Monsters We Make is a story that epitomizes the human experience – covering the highs and lows of life and humanity’s constant thirst for more – that touches on mature themes within an action/horror shonen skeleton, made by lifelong fans of the genre,” said CoryxKenshin in a statement.
