What’s been going on in the digital comics realm of late? Many deals and pacts and here’s a new one: GlobalComix is expanding its partnership with Dark Horse Comics. Dark Horse titles will now be available day and date, and more DH books will be rotated into the GlobalComix Gold subscription catalog, their all-you-can-read membership tier.

GLobalComix currently offers both single issues titles – with about 100,000 comics available – and the $7.99 a month Gold Club tier. Publishers include Dark Horse, DC, IDW, Boom and many more.

Gold Club membership benefits are also expanding with exclusive discounts on every new Dark Horse release. Initial titles rotating into the gold catalog include Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III, Cyberpunk 2077: Psycho Squad, and From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight.

Excitement for the expanded offerings was expressed, along with the promise of more titles becoming available this summer.

“Bringing new Dark Horse comics to fans online the same day they’re released is a huge win for the GlobalComix community,” said Chris Carter, CEO of GlobalComix. “It’s also the first time Gold members get exclusive discounts on new releases, making a great membership even more rewarding. We’re building the best place for comic fans online. This is just the beginning.”

“We are thrilled to take our partnership with GlobalComix to the next level by introducing the day-and-date release of new comics and graphic novels,” said Mark Bernardi, VP of Book Trade & Digital Sales at Dark Horse Comics. “Last year, we were excited to expand our catalog on GlobalComix and offer some of our most popular titles in their vertical scroll format. The format is a big hit with users and has helped introduce our comics to new fans around the world. Thanks to their cutting-edge technology and commitment to providing a stellar user experience, we believe GlobalComix will help Dark Horse reach new audiences for years to come.”

  1. I’m not very enthusiastic about the GlobalComix deal with Dark Horse. Earlier this year, Dark Horse Digital shut down, leaving its customers in the dark and unable to access their purchases after a certain date. Android users, in particular, were blocked from downloading their purchases in 2024. That move severely damaged trust in digital comics.

If GlobalComix wants me as a customer, they should honor and transfer previous Dark Horse Digital purchases to their platform.
