GLITCH Productions (Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus, The Gaslight District) have released the trailer for Gamoverse, their upcoming 2D animated series created and directed by longtime animator Ross O’Donovan a.k.a: Rubbeross. The series is also written by both O’Donovan and longtime friend and collaborator, Arin Hanson a.k.a: Egoraptor.
Loosely based off the original run of GAMEOVERSE started by Rubbeross more than a decade ago, the upcoming animated series is about various video game worlds which suddenly begin to explode horrifically. In order to save these worlds from oblivion, feline heroine Kit and her friends must help the bad guy stop the good guy. If they fail, everyone in the Gameoverse dies.
The collaboration between Glitch productions and Rubbeross was first teased on X/Twitter on January 18th, with a first look with a promotional image on the 21st. It wouldn’t be until the 23rd would the first trailer of this series be released online.
The trailer would start off set in the world of Gobbles & The learnosaurs, a setting from the very first episode of the original Gameoverse, which originally was published in 2009. There we see the familiar Gobbles with a new redesign for this new series accompanied by his friend, Stegothesaurus. The two completed a journey in collecting all of the missing vowels and have a brief conversation with Bongoraptor before reuniting them with the stolen captured consonants.
In the series, Kit is voiced by Erica Lindbeck (Helluva Boss, Spider-Man, ThunderCats Roar) and Kaboodle is voiced by JSchlatt. The duo arrive, and are only able to rescue Gobbles before the world of the learnosaurs violently explodes. The rest of the trailer shows various scenes of the adventures of our cast as they try to save the entire Gameoverse.
This marks the newest 2D-animated series in Glitch Productions’ roster of shows, alongside Lackadaisy and Knights of Guinevere. The pilot episode for Gameoverse is set to release in May.
