Montreal-based Ivalys Studios has released its first project, the narrative-driven RPG Pluralys, in Early Access on Steam. The studio describes the combat-free game as a marriage of Final Fantasy and Undertale, “challenging players to save the world through empathy, choice, and a mysterious time-stopping pager…”
In Pluralys, players control RPG- and board game-obsessed 16-year-old Elie, whose quiet life in Sector G is flipped on its head when they receive a strange and desperate message that sends them on a journey through a world where humans co-exist with creatures called Zeings.
Rather than dropping players into hard-won battles or grind-heavy quests, Pluralys focuses on dialogue and world analysis. Elie’s time-bending pager can manipulate objects, stop time, and reveal secrets hidden to the naked eye, offering multiple layers of exploration.
Here’s a breakdown of the game’s key features:
- Bend time, move heavy objects, analyze other characters’ thoughts, emotions, and intentions, phase through glass surfaces, and hack tech for a deeper understanding of the world using the Pluralys pager
- Overcome challenge and complete mini-games, all without combat or material grinding
- Uncover the truth of the Zeings and humans, as well as their interspecies relationship
- Dig into compelling, meaningful conversations and face real consequences for decisions as the story progresses
- Traverse a vibrant 2D landscape
- Enjoy an original soundtrack befitting the “cozy yet mysterious tone” of the game
Interested players can dive into the world in Pluralys (Exp.14), a free standalone episode now available on Steam, Itch.io, and GX Games.
Pluralys is available in Early Access on Steam, with full release projected for Q1 2026. Wishlist the game and stay up to date via Discord, Instagram, and the Pluralys website.
