Elric of Melniboné, created in 1961 by British writer Michael Moorcock, is one of the most iconic and well-regarded characters in all of fantasy fiction. No stranger to the comics realm, Elric continues to excite and captivate over sixty years after his first appearence. In the latest example, Titan Comics have just announced Elric: The Sleeping Sorceress, a brand-new comic series focused on the character.

Perfect for fans of sword-and-sorcery fantasy comics like Conan The Barbarian as well as lavishly illustrated comics, the new series follows Elric of Melniboné after his love was taken from him, as he is tasked with finding and aiding the Empress of the Dawn. Throughout his journey, an army plots in the shadows to steal Elric’s Ring of Kings, as well as the mighty Stormbringer, all in order to create a new Champion of Chaos.

With grief chipping away at his resolve, can Elric really subdue the deadly Stormbringer that claws at his mind — or will he succumb to his impulses and become Chaos incarnate? Written by Julien Blondel and Jean-Luc Cano, and illustated by Valentin Sécher, the first issue will be in stores on April 29, 2026.
