Titan Manga revealed to Anime Trending in May 2025 that it would publish the English-language edition of Eko Eko Azarak Reborn, a supernatural horror manga series by Yamada Jta, a remake of late manga creator Shinichi Koga‘s original Eko Eko Azarak series, serialized from September 1975 to March 1979 in Akita Shoten‘s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine and published in 19 tankobon volumes. The manga’s first volume will be available at bookstores, comic shops, and digital retailers on April 28, 2026.
Koga’s original Eko Eko Azarak manga series about the powerful witch Misa Kuroi, who is sent on a harrowing journey into Hell by a mysterious stranger, served as the inspiration for six live-action films between 1995 and 2006, a live-action television series in 1997, and a two-episode OVA series in 2007. Currently, these films and TV series are available to stream on Shudder, Crunchyroll, and Amazon Prime Video in select territories. In addition, Eko Eko Azarak has inspired two video games.

Jta’s remake of Koga’s manga first ran in Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED magazine from March 19, 2020, to March 17, 2023, with a total of five tankōbon volumes released during its run.
Titan Manga’s official description of the manga’s story:
Eko Eko Azarak Reborn brings the terrifying world of witchcraft, demons, and dark magic back to life in this chilling remake of the 1975-79 classic. Misa Kuroi, a powerful witch awakened by humanity’s darkest desires, is summoned by a mysterious stranger and sent on a harrowing journey into Hell. Facing both her dark past and Lucifer himself, Misa must confront unimaginable horrors and unlock her true power to survive.
Created by Shinichi Koga and reimagined by Yamada Jta, Eko Eko Azarak Reborn blends supernatural horror with psychological thrills, gore, and occult mysteries. Fans of supernatural adventures and dark, atmospheric storytelling will be hooked from the first page. This first volume sets the stage for a nightmarish battle against the forces of Hell, demons, and black magic, as Misa embarks on a quest to rescue her sister and face her destiny.
Before Eko Eko Azarak Reborn, Jta adapted Nobuaki Kanazawa‘s hit mobile phone novel King’s Game (Ōsama Game) into the manga King’s Game: Origin, which Crunchyroll released in English. Jta is also the creator of Asatte no Hōkō, which inspired the 2006 television anime Living for the Day After Tomorrow, and the manga Inō Maze (Supernatural Power Maze), which he and Shinichi Okada concluded in 2018.
