Next February, Ignition Press will debut its first anthology, Love Ignition 2026, featuring love stories from a multitude of incredible creators. That said, be warned: some of these romances are a little strange. Today, The Beat can reveal exclusive sneak peeks at several stories from the collection, detailed below.
Here’s the anthology synopsis:
Ignition Press debuts its first anthology, and it’s an oversized hunk ‘o burning love spanning from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of space! Emotions run hot in romance, and some people go to extremes for the person—or creature—they desire. Featuring new work by Chris Burnham (Doom Patrol); Patrick Horvath (Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees) and Morgan Beem (The Author Immortal); Rosa Ekedal (Think Tank); Olivia Dufault (TV’s Legion) and Dani (The Invisible Man); and more!
“Lover’s Pact,” by Horvath and Beem, features “a serial dater who keeps making a deadly promise with his lovers.” Check out a preview below.

Olivia Dufault and Dani’s “The Harpy and the Siren” is an enemies-to-lovers fable about two man-eating monsters from vastly different worlds who fall into a torrid affair. See a preview below.

Sugar May’s “Home Sweet Home” follows two 1950s housewives who fall in love while their salesman husbands are away. See a preview from the “exciting and bittersweet affair” below.

Chris Burnham’s “You Me Again,” featuring colors by Allen Passalaqua and letters by Pat Brosseau, follows a coroner who “discovers how love can blossom even after death.” See below.

Love Ignited 2026 also features “I Want to Know You” by Rose Ekedal, which “follows an enigmatic free spirit hitching a ride with a drug-runner in the dark highways of rural California in the ’90s,” and “Living in a Satellite Fantasy” by Jamie S. Rich and Belén Culebras, which follows a lonely satellite maintenance worker who discovers how love knows no boundaries—even those like time and space.
The anthology’s main cover art is by Joëlle Jones, with variants by Martin Morazzo and David Talaski.
