Rick and Morty are taking on the universe! Or, actually, “every single universe they’ve ever messed with,” according to Oni Press, in the new four-issue limited series aptly titled Rick and Morty Vs. The Universe. But wait! There’s more! Starting in August, the long-running Rick and Morty comic series in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products’ first crossover series will also publish three tie-in issues.
The first, Rick and Morty Vs. The Universe: Summer of Love #1, follows Summer as she throws a proper bachelorette party for the Parmesan Universe while the boys are busy partying with Prime Universe before their wedding. Today, The Beat has an exclusive first look at the hen do, co-written by Daniel Kibblesmith and Jody Houser with art by Phil Murphy.
Here’s the full synopsis:
Rick and Morty are doing their bachelor party thing with Prime Universe, so Summer decides to throw her own bachelorette shindig for Parmesan! Summer will throw a bachelorette party to remember, complete with debauchery, violence, and destruction! Hey, gurl, hey, this will end well! (News flash: It won’t.)
In addition to main cover art by Dave Bardin, Summer of Love #1 features a variant by Murphy, a 1:10 interlocking variant by Flops, a 1:20 event variant by Tom Fowler, and a 1:50 prime variant by Troy Little. Check out an exclusive preview below.

Rick and Morty Vs. The Universe: Summer of Love #1 will be available digitally and at your local comic shop on August 6. Issue #2 in the main series will follow on August 13.
