§ Via Macabre Daily, Dark Horse revealed a new Hellboy in Love one-shot, Hellboy in Love: Black Eyes, releasing April 29. Written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, with art by Alex Nieto, the book sees Hellboy and Anastasia Bransfield investigate a ghost while visiting two retired B.P.R.D. agents. It’ll mark the third Hellboy in Love release, following the 2022 miniseries, and last year’s The Art of Fire, and the fifth adventure for Ana, who originally appeared in the novels The Lost Army and The Dragon Pool.
§ The nominations for the 22nd annual Broken Frontier Awards were announced. Nominees in multiple categories include Darryl Cunningham (Elon Musk: American Oligarch), Deniz Camp, Javier Rodriguez & Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (Absolute Martian Manhunter, Assorted Crisis Events), Abs Bailey (Mother), Bex Glendining (On Starlit Shores), Donya Todd (The Witch’s Egg), and Keezy Young (Hello Sunshine). You can vote for the winners until the end of Wednesday, January 14 (UK time), and the winners will be announced on Monday, January 19.

§ Via The Hollywood Reporter, comiXology revealed the original series The Whisper War, a sci-fi murder mystery by Marc Guggenheim and Sedat Oezgen (Conan: Battle of the Black Stone). Set on another planet still reeling from a war that no one somehow remembers anything about, the book follows a detective who comes out of retirement to solve a murder “with no suspects, forensics or theories.” Issue #1 (of 5) releases on the platform on Tuesday, February 10.
§ Marvel launched Miles Morales: Spider-Man – Brooklyn’s Finest, an Infinity series by Cody Ziglar and Julian Shaw. The Unlimited exclusive sees Miles leap into action when creatures from the Savage Land attack the F.E.A.S.T. homeless shelter. It marks the second Infinity series for Miles written by Ziglar, following last year’s Astonishing Miles, which wrapped up with chapter #12 in November. Ziglar’s main Miles Morales: Spider-Man run will conclude later this month with issue #42, on January 28.

§ Via Deadline, Z2 Comics announced the OGN And Out Comes the Wolf, a companion to the upcoming drama film of the same name, itself based on Rancid‘s 1995 album And Out Come the Wolves. Adapted by Kevin Mellon (Hit-Monkey) from the script by the Neese Brothers and director Danny Peykoff, the book follows two friends during the 1990s East Bay (San Francisco) punk scene, as they try to survive amidst the drugs, crime, and poverty. § Amazon MGM revealed the main cast for Prime Video’s Tomb Raider series, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. Sigourney Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, “a mysterious, high-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara’s talents,” while Jason Isaacs will portray Croft’s uncle Atlas DeMornay. Bill Paterson will play her butler Winston, and Martin Bobb-Semple will portray tech support guy Zip. Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Celia Imrie, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein have also been cast on the show, which’ll begin filming this month.
§ Finally, via CNN reports Evangeline Lilly suffered a traumatic brain injury after fainting and hitting her head against a rock at the beach in May. Lilly, who has experienced fainting spells since childhood, stated on Instagram she received her brain scan results recently, and that “almost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.” The 46-year old, who played Hope van Dyne/The Wasp in the Ant-Man film trilogy and Avengers: Endgame, described herself as having stepped away from acting in 2024, and is not expected to appear in this year’s Avengers: Doomsday, or 2027’s Secret Wars.
