While the details on the final product are very light, BOOM! Studios has announced a Wet Hot American Summer prequel original graphic novel.  Sort of.

Wet Hot American Summer was originally released in 2001 and became the very definition of a cult comedy film.  There have since been two prequel series on Netflix.  Since the OGN is set in between the Netflix prequels and the film, that would technically make it a prequel to the original and a sequel to the prequel.

More details are doubtless forthcoming, but for now BOOM! is content to tease the series by showing off the Joe Quinones cover you’ll find to the left.

Wet Hot American Summer is the renowned 2001 cult comedy classic starring Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, and many others. Written by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, Hello My Name Is Doris) and David Wain (Role Models, Wanderlust) and directed by Wain, this iconic film was the launching pad for many comedy greats. The Netflix series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, was released in Summer 2015, and a follow-up Netflix series, Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later, was released this summer.
