An animated version of Marvel’s “Deadpool” has received a 10-episode series order from FXX, expected to debut in 2018.  Donald Glover, who starred in “Community” and created the FX show “Atlanta,” will work alongside his brother and “Atlanta” staff writer Stephen Glover, as showrunners of the animated series.

Other people attached to the project include executive producers Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The series will be produced by Marvel Television in association with FX Productions and ABC Signature studios for FXX.

Via Variety:

“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth,” Loeb said. “We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with ‘Legion’ continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.”

At this time, it is unknown how the animated series will relate to 2016’s Deadpool film, which was a surprise hit when it landed in theaters.
