In a few short months, the brand new Power Rangers film will be in theaters. Ahead of the film’s March 24 release date, BOOM! Studios has announced a softcover original graphic novel that that has a swiftly approaching March 29 release date. Power Rangers: Aftershock is a follow-up original graphic novel that following the heroes after the events of the film.

IGN broke the news, announcing that the comic is written by Ryan Parrott (Batman Gates of Gotham) with art from Lucas Werneck (Rampage Jackson: Street Soldier). As noted by IGN, details surrounding the project are sparse, but the publisher has shared an important aspect about the new graphic novel, there are two covers for the project, the first being a photo cover sold to bookstores with the second at comic shops drawn by Greg Smallwood (Moon Knight).

The 96-page graphic novel is $14.99, joining BOOM! Studios line-up of other Power Rangers comics including the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series that focuses on classic continuity aspects of the series with the original line-up and character designs.

The fan-favorite first incarnation of Power Rangers debuted on American television in 1993, mixing up original scenes from American actors with action scenes from a Japanese television show known as Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, being the 16th installment of the long-running Toei’s Super Sentai show. 

Power Rangers debuts in theaters March 24, with the Power Rangers: Aftershock graphic novel debuting shortly after on store shelves March 29.
