Today, thanks to THR, it’s being reported that Snowpiercer may live on via the small screen, as Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) is penning the script for a pilot with Tomorrow Studios, who hold the film rights to the graphic novel.
Whether or not the story of series will retell that of the film, which centers on a train that travels the globe in a Post-Apocalyptic snow covered wasteland, or will spin-off in some fashion, is yet to be revealed (though the end of the film probably would require some serious narrative backflips for the latter to occur).
Friedman had this to say on his new gig:
I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity. Marty (Adelstein) and Becky (Clements) are the perfect partners to help me bring this world to TV. I’m a huge fan of director Bong’s films, especially Snowpiercer. It’s great the way the best sci-fi is great — thoughtful, political, funny, scary and sly. And it’s on a train. A big f—ing train. What more could you want?
Here’s hoping it fares better than say, Minority Report, in terms of pulling in viewers.
