• Now that the con schedule has been announced, /Film rounds up the movies that AREN’T getting pushed at the show, most prominent among them SCOTT PILGRIM.

• Looking to shake your own or someone else’s groove thing during the show? This list of Off-site events and parties happening during San Diego Comic-Con 2009 includes official con activities as well as local club events, who seem to be welcoming Comic-Con attendee dollars with open arms.

• Hm, now here’s a display we hadn’t heard of before: D23, the ‘official’ Disney fan club will have an extensive display of past and present Disney props at booth #3917, including the first look at the redesigned Nautilus for a planned 20,000 LEAGUES remake.

This “Heroic and Robotic” exhibition (which has been created exclusively for the 2009 Comic-Con International) will feature props and costumes from such classic Disney films as “Tron”… and other notable Mouse House motion pictures like “The Black Hole,” “Sky High,” “Condorman” and “The Rocketeer.”

D23 members should definitely make a point of dropping by Booth 3917. Not just because they’ll then be able to get a sneak preview of the D23 Expo as well as the Fall issue of Disney twenty-three magazine. But also because – if they flash their membership card as well as a photo ID – they’ll then be able to pick up a free litho designed by Disney master artist Dave Pacheco.

• Zenescope will be debuting a flip book preview of two new titles, AGON and MERC, both scheduled for a fall 2009 release.

  1. Bryan Lee O’Malley pointed out on Twitter this morning that Scott Pilgrim is filming 6 days a week, and San Diego would be a 12-hour round trip. Not exactly feasible to fly people out for a single day.

  2. With the full schedule released, I’m struck by the lack of Star Trek programming. Wasn’t J.J. Abrams’ reboot a success?
