Reports say Bendis to make his DC debut with Jim Lee in ACTION COMICS #1000

0

In November 2017, Brian Michael Bendis, one of the most prolific writers at Marvel Comics for nearly two decades, stunned the comics world when he announced he was going exclusive with DC Comics. Now, according to Comicbook, Bendis will make his writing debut at the company in a Superman backup story in Action Comics #1000.

According to the anonymously sourced report, DC Comics co-publisher and artist Jim Lee will draw Bendis’ story, adding an additional layer of pomp and circumstance to the thousandth issue of Action Comics. The comic has already been touted as an over-sized celebration, featuring a main story written by current Action Comics writer Dan Jurgens and another story by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is expected to contribute a story with Superman (1978) film director Richard Donner, as well.

At the time of this article’s publication, DC Comics had not responded to an email asking for comment on the report regarding Bendis.
