Masters will be joined on the title by artist Eoin Marron (Her Infernal Descent), colorist Jordie Bellaire, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The book’s first issue is due out May 29 from AfterShock Comics.
The plot sees Jonny, an aspiring musician in Los Angeles (where there are many…many aspiring musicians) working at a bar, drinking away his troubles, and hanging out with a similarly blotto P.I. Jonny gets mixed up with a mafia hitman, sending him into a new career AND a new inspiration for his music.

OLLIE MASTERS ON HOW HIS PERSONAL MUSIC INTERESTS INFLUENCED THE CREATION OF THIS PROJECT:
“I used to play the drums and know what it’s like to be out there playing gigs, although I never starting killing people so I guess that’s where the comparison stops. But like most people, I’ve got a love of those 60s/70s bands. I’m not an expert in that area but it’s my parents’ generation’s music, it was like a background soundtrack to my early life. So it’s weird, it’s like nostalgia for a time I never actually experienced.”

“I think it was through Azzarello and Doe’s book, American Monster. They seemed to be producing these really interesting titles at AfterShock so I was really excited to take this project to them and it’s been such a great experience working with them.”
