The Sandman

The highly anticipated series finally releases a teaser showing us more of Tom Sturridge‘s Morpheus and his realm of Dreaming. We also get a look at Jenna Coleman‘s Johanna Constantine, the occult detective, and ancestor of John Constantine, as well as a glimpse of Boyd Holbrook‘s The Corinthian. For lovers of Neil Gaiman‘s seminal comic book, some scenes will look directly plucked from the panels of the series. Set to premiere on August 5th, we’re eagerly anticipating more looks at the realm of Dreaming and maybe even a look at Gwendoline Christie‘s Lucifer soon.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities

Horror auteur Guillermo del Toro presents Cabinet of Curiosities, an anthology of eight horror tales, with two original works by del Toro. The episodes feature an ensemble cast and various directors and writers. The teaser reveals beloved horror directors and the titles that they’re known for, as well as a glimpse at the cast of the anthology, featuring notable names like Eric Andre, Ben Barnes, Sofia Boutella, Crispin Glover, Rupert Grint, Andrew Lincoln, Charlene Yi and more. Although the teaser doesn’t give much away, the mood is set and lovers of horror can expect an eerie and atmospheric series ahead.

The Midnight Club

From the mind of Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong comes another adapted series, this time based on Christopher Pike‘s YA novel of the same name, The Midnight Club. The series follows a group of terminally ill young adults at the Rotterdam Home run by an ‘enigmatic’ doctor. The cast features Iman Benson, Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Heather Langenkamp as the doctor. The teaser gives us a look at each of the kids, who recite to the camera: “To those before, to those after, to us now, and to those beyond, seen or unseen, here but not here.” While the series looks spooky enough based on the teaser, knowing Flanagan’s previous series with Netflix, the show is sure to feature more than a few emotional moments as well.

Wednesday

Featuring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, the teaser for the upcoming Wednesday series Ortega getting into costume for her role with the signature braids and Peter Pan collar. The series is directed by Tim Burton, and created by Smallville co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Locke and Key Season 3

Debuting August 10th, we get our first look at a teaser for Locke and Key Season 3. The final season looks action-packed and promises to be an epic conclusion for lovers of the series based on the comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.

Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2

We had quite a lot to say about the first season of Fate: The Winx Saga, and it was criticized for erasing the fan-favorite character Flora from the series. The first-look clip from Season 2 shows that Terra will be reunited with her cousin Flora. The series returns for the second season this Fall.

Warrior Nun Season 2

Two years after its debut, we finally get a look at Warrior Nun Season 2. It looks as campy and CW-like as ever, but it seems to work for the series. Based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn, those who enjoy a good soapy, supernatural drama with loads of girl power should binge the first season to prepare for Season 2.

1899

If you loved the twisty, confusing sci-fi series Dark, then the creators Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar have something new up their sleeves for you. A period piece, 1899 is about of group of European migrants who board a steamship for New York City but encounter another migrant ship out in the open ocean. With supernatural and horror elements, and the implication that this series might be as convoluted as Dark, those who love a good mystery are sure to dig into this series this Fall/Winter.

The Gray Man

The brief clip of the upcoming movie starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas, shows Gosling in a visceral fight scene before he encounters a mustachioed Evans. The snark and chemistry is at its peak, which will surely propel this action thriller from The Russo Brothers. The film also stars Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton. The Gray Man will have a limited theater release on July 15th followed by a Netfiix release July 22nd.

Spiderhead

Based on George Saunders‘ short story “Escape from Spiderhead” the clip from the upcoming sci-fi thriller shows Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, and Tess Haubrich in an intriguing and charged scene. Spiderhead follows two convicts living in a society where prisoners can volunteer for emotion-altering drugs to reduce their prison sentences. This is all overseen by the Steve Abnesti (Hemsworth). As we can see in the clip, Steve seems eager to play around with the internal chemistry of the inmates in order to get his desired effect. Spiderhead streams on Netflix June 17, 2022.

The School For Good and Evil

Based on the book series by Soman Chainani, The School for Good and Evil is a familiar concept. A magical school is created for characters who will eventually become fairytale heroes and villains. The series stars Sofia Wylie and Sophia Anne Caruso as the leads with the teaser also giving us a glimpse at Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington. While there’s little to go off of, lovers of fantasy and fairytale lore will likely be eager to tune in this Fall to experience some of the magic.

The Sea Beast

A swashbuckling, family friendly tale, The Sea Beast trailer shows a rollicking adventure of pirates and sailors. Capitalizing on the now tried-and-true formula of reluctant father figure and plucky upstart, the movie features Karl Urban as one of the leading voice actors. The trailer promises a heart-warming and fun movie for audiences, with adorable animation.

Arcane: Bridging the Rift

With Season 2 of Arcane already in the works, Netflix is releasing a behind-the-scenes series in order to tide over fans of the smash-hit League of Legends animated series. For lovers of animation and the semantics behind what it takes to create some of those intricate scenes in Arcane, Arcane: Bridging the Rift will be an informative and entertaining interlude between the two seasons.

Farzar 425 pm pt

Starring Lance Reddick as the voice for the leading character Renzo, Farzar promises to be an irreverent, funny animated sci-fi comedy from the minds of Roger Black and Waco O’Guin, who previously created Paradise PD and Brickleberry. With references to Futurama and Rick and Morty, the series looks to be bizarre, bloody, and hilarious. Alongside Reddick, series regulars include Dana Snyder, David Kaye, Jerry Minor, Kari Wahlgren, Grey Griffin, and Carlos Alazraqui.

Entergalactic

Based on Kid Cudi‘s upcoming album of the same name, there’s not much to glean from Entergalactic‘s teaser other than the fact that the animation looks amazing and the voice cast is stacked. Alongside Kid Cudi (aka Scott Mescudi) is Jessica Williams, Timothée Chalamet, Ty Dolla Sign, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro, and Macaulay Culkin.
