George R.R. Martin’s getting to have a bit of history with comic adaptions. DC adapted Sandkings as a graphic novel all the way back in 1987. The Hedge Knight goes back to 2003 as a monthly serial. And then Dynamite started adapting A Game of Thrones in 2011. Now Dynamite is adapting Martin’s second book in A Song of Ice and Fire, A Clash of Kings.
I don’t really have to explain about Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire at this point, right? Didn’t think so. Let’s just leave it that the comic adaptions are of the actual books, not the TV show.
This time around, there’s a different creative team: Landry Q. Walker, known for the Batman: The Brave and the Bold, will be writing. Mel Rubi will be handling the art. Rubi was Dynamite’s Red Sonja artist when they first landed that property way back in ’05 and seems like he’d be a pretty good fit for the adaption.

George R.R. Martin’s A Clash of Kings #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June.
