A new trailer just launched for A Legacy of Violence by writer Cullen Bunn, artist Andrea Mutti and letterer Rus Wooten. It’s a new series from Mad Cave Studios, their first maxi series and definitely one of the most ambitious projects yet for the fast rising publisher.

The series, which debuts in October, is another outing for horror master Bunn, with Mutti’s usual outstanding art, and Wooten’s sharp lettering.

The story is set in Honduras, where Dr. Nicholas Shaw has joined a humanitarian effort in hopes of forgetting his own past trauma. But something sinister has followed him there, something that wants to put his medical skills to ghastly tests, something connected to the young doctor’s past… and to untold horrors that occurred long before he was born.

“It’s always a delight to work with my pal Andrea, and to work on a story like this with him, a story that fits his masterful talents so well—that’s just thrilling!” said Bunn in a statement. “A Legacy of Violence is a big, sweeping, challenging horror story, and I’ve loved writing it. For this tale, I had to rely on some different skills. It is very different from anything else I’ve done, and I think readers will be really surprised by it all.”

“When I get a call from Cullen I don’t even read what he wants to propose to me, I immediately answer yes by default!” added Mutti. “Working with Cullen is like working on velvet, it’s like he reads my mind, he submits things to me that I love .. and he knows it! A Legacy of Violence is yet another test … a story full of horror and mystery, two key ingredients for a tight narrative full of twists! I’m the first reader and I’m always thrilled with every chapter! You will literally be nailed to the pages!”

The first issue of this 12 issue series goes on sales October 5, 2022. You can pre order here, or subscribe digitally here – which includes a copy of the print trade collection.
