Even if you dread it or run from it, destiny comes all the same – and in this case, that means Kevin Feige, the superstar producer at the helm of the extremely successful MCU, is going to be taking on a Star Wars movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, co-chairman of Disney Studios Alan Horn says that Feige is working closely with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on an upcoming Star Wars project.

Few further details were available, in part because the future of the Star Wars franchise has yet to be publicly revealed. After Rise of Skywalker concludes the Skywalker saga on December 20, it’s unclear where the franchise will head next.

It’s also unclear whether or not Feige will be involved with any of the Star Wars projects that have already been announced, which include a series of movies by the showrunners of Game of Thrones, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, in addition to a previously unveiled trilogy of new movies from The Last Jedi writer and director Rian Johnson.

Star Wars isn’t the only project that Lucasfilm is working on, either. In addition to Indiana Jones, an adaption of the fantasy novel Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi is on the way. Furthermore, multiple projects are coming to the new streaming service Disney+, including The Mandalorean, which premieres November 12 and is helmed by Iron Man writer and director Jon Favreau.

A source told THR that Feige already has his eye on a particular actor that he wants to see cast in the Star Wars galaxy if he makes the movie. While it’s unclear who this might be, it’s hard not to think of Captain Marvel star Brie Larson, who has previously voiced her interest in taking a role in a galaxy far, far away.
