If you saw the latest episode of Stargirl, you already saw how Courtney and her new Justice Society fared against Injustice Society of America members Sportsmaster and Tigress. It looks like that was just the warmup as next episode will see what comic fans have been anticipating since the first episode when head cheerleader and self-appointed Blue Valley High mean girl Cindy Burman, played by Meg DeLacy, dons the Shiv mantle.
If you thought Regina George from Mean Girls took the crown, wait until you get load of Cindy in the promo below:
Those who are familiar with the comics know that Cindy is the daughter of the villainous mastermind Dragon King, who appeared in episode 4 played by Nelson Lee. From the promo, Shiv will be wielding her trademark staff from the comics that’s capable of shooting plumes of fire.
Looks like we’ll be discovering Cindy’s “secret origin” as to what exactly set her down this path, aside from being the daughter of a supervillain.
“As Pat (Luke Wilson) teaches Courtney (Brec Bassinger), Yolanda (Yvette Monreal), Beth (Anjelika Washington) and Rick (Cameron Gellman) the importance of teamwork, the ISA converge to figure out who is trying to take them down. Elsewhere, as the school prepares for homecoming, Cindy (Meg DeLacy) lashes out against her father’s strict rules, while Barbara (Amy Smart) accepts an offer from Jordan (Neil Jackson).”
Lea Thompson directed the episode, written by Evan Ball.
The first six episodes of Stargirl are available to stream on the DC Universe app now, with new episodes debuting every Monday and airing on The CW the following day.
