DC Universe Infinite now available outside of the U.S.

The app is available in Canada now, with more countries gaining access over the next few months

When DC Comics launched their DC Universe streaming service in in 2018, the app was available only to subscribers in the United States. That’s about to change, though, as the service now known as DCU Infinite is coming to international customers over the next few months.

The publisher announced today that DCUI is now available in Canada, and will be available in Australia and New Zealand starting tomorrow, March 29th (or is it today, I never remember what the time difference is from the U.S. to there). Access in the United Kingdom will follow on April 28th, while Brazil and Mexico will be able to use the platform this Summer (or, as the PR clarifies, Brazil’s Winter).

Originally a service that provided access to both digital comics and exclusive streaming TV shows and movies, DC Universe Infinite became solely a digital comics service in 2020, with original programming like TitansDoom Patrol, and the animated Harley Quinn series shifting over to HBO Max. The latter service, which now includes James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad spin-off Peacemaker, is as of earlier this month available in 61 territories around the world. Interesting not among those territories are Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom – perhaps parent company Warner Bros. is using DCU Infinite to test out streaming to those countries before rolling out HBO Max there.

In a statement about the international rollout, DC Senior VP and General Manater Anne Leung DePies expressed the appropriate enthusiasm for the new initiative:

“DC is thrilled to soon welcome comic book fans from other countries to our digital service for the first time. Making DC UNIVERSE INFINITE available globally is one of our major priorities and this launch is the first of many more to come. It is one more way fans of every generation around the world can engage with DC’s iconic Super Heroes!”

Pricing and download info for international DCU Infinite access can be found below.

  1. DC Comics will now manage to make DC Universe Infinite available in 6 more Countries after a one-year delay. That leaves 188 countries. If this pace continues, it will only take 31 years for DC Universe Infinite to be available globally.

But I hope that it will be faster .

Those whose countries have now been announced, I wish a lot of fun. We in Germany unfortunately still have to wait .
