There’s a lot of talk about Garth Ennis’ Preacher these days, with AMC recently announcing an order of 10 episodes of the much-anticipated television adaption of the Eisner-winning comic series. Ennis’ tale of a preacher, imbued with god-like powers and searching for the almighty, spanned over five years and proved a tent pole for newly formed DC imprint Vertigo. But Ennis has been prolific since Preacher ended in 2001, penning stories for Marvel, DC, Dynamite, and many others. His newest effort is an eight-issue series from Titan Comics due out November 4th: Johnny Red. The series sees Ennis, a World War II buff, bringing pulp magazine hero Johnny ‘Red’ Redburn out of retirement. Featuring art by Keith Burns, who we interviewed last month, Johnny Red will depict the titular fighter pilot commanding his own squadron against the Nazi menace.

From Titan:

Legendary British fighter ace, Johnny ‘Red’ Redburn, returns once more as the commander of the Falcons – a Russian fighter squadron battling the Nazis in the skies over Stalingrad. But dogfighting Messerschmitts is about to become the least of his troubles when the NVKD the notorious Soviet secret police – come calling!
