Soule’s finale arc will run from Daredevil #609 – #612, with two issues coming in October and another two in November. Joining Soule is artist Phil Noto, a previous collaborator of his over on Marvel’s Star Wars line. Also, anyone worried Matt Murdock will actually die (c’mon) can probably relax a little—there’s a Marvel Knights 20th Anniversary revival party in the works, spread across six issues from November through January, and Daredevil has long been central to that branding.
Were I a betting man (and I’m absolutely not), I might wager that one of the young writers working on that deal would come out the other side of this thing writing a new Daredevil book early next year. Those writers, by the way, are Donny Cates, Matthew Rosenberg, Tini Howard, and Vita Ayala, any one of which would be a pretty cool choice for Daredevil, a book with a long history of teasing top-tier work out of young writers and also Mark Waid.
