Carlos Hernandez and Luis Morocho make their Marvel Comics debut in MARVEL’S VOICES: COMUNIDADES

Marvel's Voices brings back an all-star line-up of creators for Comunidades.

MARVEL’S VOICES: COMUNIDADES #1 Miles Morales Art by Luis Morocho

By now, you are probably familiar with Marvel Comics’ Marvel’s Voices line: last year, Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Best Original Graphic Novel/Anthology. Beginning as a podcast hosted by Angélique Roché (who serves as Consulting Editor on Marvel’s Voices anthology books) that brought fans interviews with some of the best talents at Marvel Entertainment, it is now also a line of comic anthologies highlighting both the publisher’s diverse heroes and creators. Traditionally, the Marvel’s Voices anthologies also introduce several new creators to Marvel Comics’ roster of talent. This year’s Marvel’s Voices: Comunidades will be the Marvel Comics debut for artist Luis Morocho (learn more about him here) and novelist Carlos Hernandez.

The 2021 anthology mixed “tones, art styles, and story lengths, running the gamut from a few single-cartoonist single-page stories to considerably longer tales (the anthology is 96-pages long),” and as with all of the Marvel’s Voices books, it looks like Marvel Comics fans expect the anthology to follow the same format once again. And while last year, we got a story about one of my favorite breakout characters from the four-issue Reptil run by Terry BlasEnid Balám Victor Olazaba, Carlos Lopez, and Joe Sabino, if this year’s covers are any indication of what’s contained within the pages of 2022’s anthology, then it seems like we will be getting a Sauropod-sized helping of Humberto Ramos, and his shark-tastic friend, Shark-Girl.

I mean, really, are we going to see Humberto transform into the legendary Quetzalcoatlus again? Check out the wings below:
