BREAKING NEWS: Batman Saves San Franciscohttp://ift.tt/17wZNpF

Breaking news coming in as we speak, with the story that Batman has been seen in San Francisco all through today, foiling nefarious schemes from both The Penguin and The Riddler! After first stopping an elaborate bank heist, Batman then went on to foil a kidnapping attempt!  His feats of heroism have not gone unnoticed, with thousands of people cheering him on through the streets of the city — and prompting even a word of congratulations from The President himself. More below.

This is the news of five year old Miles, who has spent the day achieving his wish to be Batman. This is part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, who have helped turn several blocks of San Francisco into Gotham for the day, as Miles rides around in the Batmobile, foils the schemes of various villains, saves the day and will – this evening – receive the key to San Francisco from the Mayor.

Thousands of people have lined the streets in San Francisco to follow Miles on his day, as (accompanied by a second Batman – the Dick Grayson to his Bruce Wayne) CNN news and the San Francisco Chronicle both reported on his exploits. His first duty as Batman was to take down the Riddler, who was attempting to rob the gold vault of the bank. And he’d also taken people hostage! After first saving all the hostages from the Riddler, Miles faced down his enemy and put an end to Nigma’s schemes.

But Miles’ work was still not done… because The Penguin had kidnapped Lou Seal, the mascot for the San Francisco Giants!

Miles went in pursuit, and managed to track down and stop the Penguin before he could get away with it – in front of a crowd of thousands, all cheering him on. United States Attorney Melinda Haag put out a release saying:

We’ve been chasing Nigma and Cobblepot for years and just when I was about to give up hope that we would ever bring them to justice, wouldn’t you know it – Batkid shows up and saves the day. I’ve been involved in some unbelievable cases, and I’ve worked with some pretty remarkable law enforcement officers, but the bravery displayed by Batkid is off the charts. I’m absolutely certain that there is no villain this remarkable super-hero can’t defeat.

Now, after a day of busy work, Miles will be able to put his feet up and relax – his work here is done.

Miles has been fighting leukaemia for three years, and early this year finished his course of treatment for the disease. His mother said that this day would be a celebration for all the family, after three years of treatment – his battle is over. This day was all made possible by the Make A Wish Foundation in San Francisco, which organised this whole event thanks to the support of volunteers across the state. If you would like to help make a donation to help keep them going, please find their website here.

Everybody makes a difference! To anybody else, Miles looks like a regular five year old boy. But today, we all learned he’s not just Miles – HE’S BATMAN.
