In a move that’s sure to make waves from Riverdale all the way to Greendale, Archie Comics has confirmed that the brand-new five-page lead features that will be included in the upcoming autumnal digests will feature Sabrina Spellman, the Teenage Witch!

Spell for New Comics

Previously, The Beat reported that upcoming Archie Comics reprint digests would also include brand-new five page stories. Now, we know that the first batch of fresh stories will feature one of the most popular characters in all of Archie Comics: Sabrina the Teenage Witch!

“We know that our readers will get a kick out of seeing Sabrina show up in these new stories alongside Archie, Betty, Veronica, and the rest of the gang,” Archie Comics Director of Publicity & Social Media Ron Cacace said in the official press release from the publisher. “It’s a great way to start the spooky season!”

Better yet, while all Archie Comics are designed to be picked up and enjoyed regardless of reading experience, the press release promises that astute readers will notice narrative threads that extend across the Sabrina stories that appear in the three Jumbo Digests.

Here are the titles that will include new comics this autumn:

  • Betty & Veronica Friends Forever: Halloween Spooktacular (September 8th)
  • Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #297 (September 22nd)
  • World of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #113 (September 29th)
  • Archie’s Halloween Spectacular #1 (October 6th)
  • World of Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #9 (October 13th)

Not Enough Spellman?

Still not enough Sabrina for you? Well, we can’t blame you… and fortunately, Archie Comics is obliging: we’ll be getting another entry in the Archie Horror Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Robert Hack, and Jack Morelli, arriving on October 13th.

Meanwhile, The Occult World of Sabrina, written by Aguirre-Sacasa and illustrated by Audrey Mok, is meant to arrive later in the year.

Everything’s Archie Sabrina

Will you be picking up these Digests to collect all three stories? Are you planning on a double dose of Sabrina on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 (between Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9 and World of Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #1)?
