A bunch of comical types including Jose Garibaldi and Jim Mahfood will be providing some of the partying in Chicago.
It’s that time of year, Wizard World arrives in Chicago this weekend and once again we throw our annual celebration. For those who’ve attended in 04 at the Metro or the Black Beetle in 05 and 06 know this isn’t a party to be missed. This year, the Comeups are hosting TWO events. Friday night at the Darkroom showcases the sounds of Chicago rappers Haiku and Phys Edison, DJ Once A Month, and from St. Louis, The Earthworms (feat. DJ Mahf, brother of artist Food One).
Saturday is sure to outdo the events of years past. Artists Food One (Colt 45), Mike Huddleston (DC Comics), Jose Garibaldi (Mad Magazine), and Mike Bianco (Public Enemy) unleash their artistic wizardry spontaneously in front of your eyes as DJ Pickel, Intel, J.Lee and DJ Mahf cut the tunes that put your feet to work. Factor in the Black Beetle’s killer menu, friendly staff, beautiful weather plus good vibes and you’ll understand why people won’t shut up about it. Why, last year the Black Beetle was rocked so hard we killed the power supply 3 times!
