Folks around the net are linking to the webcomic OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS by Mr. Tim.

This site depicts REAL things said to me (or at least near me) by customers in the comic book shop that I work in. These are real people. This is what they look like and this is something that they actually said.

Obviously, Mr. Tim is made of stern stuff.

  1. Pretty wacky stuff.

I love the name “Valued Customer.” Reminds me of a sign that was posted on a flower shop window near my office: “We have moved to (street address about a mile away) to serve you better.” haaaahhhaa

  2. Having worked in a comic shop on and off for the last 6 years, I’ve got to say this site is awesome!!!! I’ve met most of the people featured in this comic. Spend any time in a comic shop, and you’ll have met most of them, too.

  3. I saw a number of sites posting these. I checked out the front page. Then one of my roommates told me that it was done from one of the comic stores down the street from us.

So I went through the archive and checked to see that I wasn’t in there. I wasn’t, at least not yet, but at the same time I came to a scary realization. Ooooh.. these are the people in my neighborhood.. my neighborhood.. my neigh-bor-hood.. They’re the people that I meet as I’m walking down the street. They’re the people that I meet each day.

Also, in hindsight I recognized the art style from a number of characters I’ve seen drawn around the store. From a recent Kick Ass drawing to a Batman villains group I’d eyeballed for a while, I should have recognized the style.
