Batman and Mister Miracle writer Tom King is taking down the federal government shutdown. The former CIA officer isn’t storming the White House, but he will be giving his comics away for free to government employees this weekend at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis, Maryland. Government employee ID showing customers will receive free comics and graphic novels while supplies last. All fans in attendance, whether or not they’re employed by the government, can get their comics signed by the writer.

Tom King posted on Facebook, “ANNOUNCEMENT: With the shut down, a lot of people are suffering. I’ve been there. Worked for the fed for 9 years, at times living pay check to pay check. Wanted to help, so I’m giving away my comics. This SATURDAY. Third Eye Comics. Annapolis. 11am-done.
