Argentine cartoonist José Muñoz is one of the all timers, mixing inky wash with unsettling caricature in an atmospheric way that has influenced everyone from Frank Miller to Eduardo Risso. He’s best known for his noir detective Alack Sinner, and going back, his collaborations wit Carlos Sampayo that appeared in RAW. His Billie Holiday book was recently reissued by NBM, and Alack Sinner was collected by IDW earlier this year.
And now he’s making a very very RARE appearance in the US at the Scott Eder Gallery.
This is a very special opportunity to see art by one of the world’s great cartoonists, so well worth trekking to Jersey City. YOU can see all the art on display HERE and it’s amazing.
Join us and the great José Muñoz for our opening reception celebrating his first ever solo US gallery exhibition. We will be showcasing work from his entire career with a focus on his classic Alack Sinner stories with Carlos Sampayo. Books will be available as well as several limited edition art prints created exclusively for this event. Muñoz will be present for signing.
