I announced a new book yesterday! COW BOY, being published by good ol’ Archaia Entertainment. I’m writing, Chris Eliopoulos is drawing! Super-exciting, we’ve been working on it for a wnile. Me an’ Chris aren’t super-duper-megastars, so we figured doing an online announcement before the con started would be better than the weekend, when we could get drowned out by the massive announcements. So…yeah! Cool. In other news…

I am not built for cons. Not really into video games or swag or collectibles or sketches or getting stuff signed or cosplay or…y’know, whatever. All good if you are, it’s just not for me.
BUT! I’m writing a post for The Beat about my con experience, so I manned up on Wednesday and went to the San Diego Comic-Con preview night! Here is my timeline:

7:56pm – Ate a Nutri-Grain bar. (strawberry)

7:57pm – Did some pushups.

7:58pm – Left hotel room.

8:02pm – Stood with a bunch of people on the sidewalk while a train passed between us and the convention center.

8:04pm – Arrived at convention center.

8:06pm – Went to Archaia booth. Hugged Stephen Christy. Women around us became jealous that I got to touch him.

8:08pm – Saw the guy from 30 Rock that wears different hats all the time. Judas? Judah something? (shrug)

8:09pm – Walking. Sloooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly.

8:16pm – Met Edgar Delgado. He was wearing at hat. (but he’s not on 30 Rock)

8:20pm – Left con.

8: 24pm – Back in room. Ate another Nutri-Grain bar (strawberry)

So…16 minutes total. I’m on the Immortals panel tomorrow from 1-2pm. (or, if I have my way, 1-1:16pm)
