The road to the finale of Batman: The Telltale Series – The Enemy Within has been paved with a litany of reimagined characters from the Bat-universe putting Bruce Wayne through a gauntlet. All the while John Doe loomed as a dangling sword over players heads. It appears we’ll finally get to see just how Telltale’s Joker comes to be. Including the studio’s homage to a classic Brian Bolland cover.

The official release date for the fifth and final episode of Batman: The Enemy Within, launches Tuesday, March 27 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and mobile.  Titled “Same Stich”, the finale pays off the relationship you’ve built with John Doe, you’ll see one of two very different stories play out. One a ruthless villain that hews closer to the classic Clown Prince of Crime and the other an unpredictable vigilante that’s unlike any other portrayal of DC’s iconic character.

In their press release, Telltale Games talked about just how this episode compares to their previous titles and even one of the best movies of all time:

Same Stitch contains three and a half hours of content spread across two completely distinct storylines that share, at most, only three overlapping scenes. Each of those storylines includes further conditional variations that reflect players’ earlier choices and make Same Stitch, mathematically, Telltale’s “branchiest” episode ever. With over 4,500 lines of dialogue divided among 38 characters, the overall script for the episode is larger than Christopher Nolan’s entire Dark Knight trilogy.

Batman: The Enemy Within episodes 1-4 are available to download on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam PC. Episode five launches March 27.
