TEKKEN has been gracing gaming screens since 1994.  It’s also set to be the latest entry in Dynamite’s Video Games Icons line of books.  Which is to say, there’s a TEKKEN art book on the schedule for 2018.  The book will include a behind the scenes look into the making of the games and a whole bunch of art.

Official PR follows:

Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that the world-renowned video game franchise TEKKEN™ will be celebrated in a gorgeous hardcover retrospective, via a new licensing deal with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. The TEKKEN art book joins Dynamite’s critically acclaimed Video Games Icons line, and is slated for release in 2018!

Since its original release in 1994, TEKKEN – one of the first games at the time to incorporate 3D animation – garnered a worldwide following and spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs. Structured around the fictional King of Iron Fist Tournament as sponsored by the Mishima Zaibatsu corporation, TEKKEN tells the story of the Mishima ancestral curse, pitting the series protagonist Jin Kazama against members of his villainous lineage, while incorporating the colorful stories and aspirations of a wide cast of additional fighters.
The new TEKKEN retrospective from Dynamite Entertainment will feature in-depth interviews and exclusive, behind-the-scenes looks into the making of the games, as well as the iconic art, design, and imagery from across the TEKKEN universe. Oversized and hundreds of pages in length, printed on high-quality glossy paper to perfectly capture the vibrant colors of high-res photographs and scans, this commemorative collectible makes the perfect coffee table book or addition to a hardcore gamer’s bookshelves.
TEKKEN 3 is the one that got its hooks into me… when I really started appreciating how fun and brilliant of a fighting game series it was, with its own personality and crazy-awesome cast of characters,” says Rich Young, Director of Business Development for Dynamite. “We’re now at TEKKEN 7 and the franchise is still going as strong as ever!  It’s an honor to be working with BANDAI NAMCO on this project, and to present this amazing retrospective to the dedicated and passionate fans worldwide!”
Dynamite’s TEKKEN art book retrospective will be available at major bookstore chains, online booksellers, and independent bookstores courtesy of Diamond Book Distributors, and to consumers through the comic book specialty market. The product will be solicited in an upcoming edition of the Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market. TEKKEN will also be available for purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.
