In Which I Tell a Comics Shop Owner How To Run His Business.
By Brian Hibbs As I write this, it’s the deadline to order the October “Legacy” re-positioning from Marvel, with the lenticular covers. Marvel has been explicit that if we don’t order the lenticulars by the initial order deadline of 8/24, then we should expect to get allocated on any orders we might place. One of […]
t’s Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday today, and this should be a national holiday, but sadly people just aren’t hip enough for Kirby Day yet. If you’re in New York, there is a pop up Museum downtown, sort of nearish where Kirby was born, and I’ll be making a visit there later today.
Streaming giant Netflix got a little less giant with Disney’s announcement that starting in 2019 they’ll launch their own streaming service, using the BAMtech technology that currently powers MLB.com. By Brian Hibbs The solicits for August 2017 Marvel comics have finally been released – the start of “Marvel Legacy” – and I think it is now fair to ask if Marvel actually hears or heard any of the criticism of their line over the last few months. Flo was the sole MArvel staffer besides Stan Lee himself in the early Marvel Comics of the 60s. She can be heard on this immortal Merry Marvel Marching Society record starring Stan, Jack Kirby and […]
Marvel Studios and Netflix had a roller coaster panel at SDCC, beginning with footage from The Punisher and capping off the day in Hall H with a surprise screening of Marvel’s The Defenders, which will be released on Netflix August 18.

So here’s a little […]

(Joan Celia), born in 1950, and Jan, who died three days after her birth in 1953. The British-born former hat model charmed Lee upon their first meeting, as […]
