Maybe it’s that it was Sunday and everyone was chugging vats of coffee to stay awake. Maybe it was just three days of horrible eating catching up with everyone. Whatever the cause, wherever I went the Sunday of this year’s New York Comic Con, everyone was talking about going to the bathroom. Planning a visit, waiting in line, or even fleeing the con in search of an available facility.

Okay… so it’s about a week since Phoenix Comicon, and I’ve still been trying to grapple with the weird sheen that seemed to take over this year’s con. The Phoenix Con has gotten some negative press in these digital pages for actions by the con. Run of the mill… whatever. But this year, with the […]

This year, it featured Wonder Woman, celebrating 75 years, and star of a major motion picture. […]
Recently The Hollywood Reporter posted an article about how stars can make a lot of money at conventions from bookings and signings. This is a part of the changing economy of conventions and the growth of the profits and business opportunities surrounding it. Another large growth market is the afterparty market.
As long as we’re talking Baltimore Comic Con — which is only a few short weeks away–and will be held over the Labor Day weekend, Friday Sept. 2-Sunday Sept.4 — it’s just been announced that Game of Thrones actor Kristin “Hodor” Nairn will be attending on Saturday, giving us all a chance to write a […]
