Today, WB Games via IGN broke the news of Swamp Thing officially joining the Injustice 2 roster. A video showing off gameplay from the character, as well as a Swamp Thing stage, demonstrates how powerful the guardian of the green is in Injustice 2 as he demolishes the likes of a Red Lantern and Robin.
Developed by the studio behind the iconic Mortal Kombat series, NetherRealm Studios will release the sequel to their hit DC Comics fighting game in May. Swamp Thing joins a cast of already confirmed debuts which include Atrocious, Supergirl, Black Canary, Deadshot, and Blue Beetle.
While Swamp Thing will make his in-game debut in the sequel, fans of the tie-in comics will recall his appearances in the year three series.
In April, DC Comics will see the return of Injustice: Gods Among Us digital comics tie-in writer Tom Taylor for a new digital-first series that bridges the gap between games.
Injustice 2, the game, releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 16, 2017.
