Loki's Robot Army (Still from The Avengers via io9.com)

It’s still Avengers-o-rama in the nerd movie news cycle, although at this point there’s not much to report other than hype. The LA Times has a story on why and how Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts got to be in the movie, when none of the other Avengers’ significant others are. Basically Robert Downey Jr. made it so but Joss was cool with it. Also, Hollywood is using The Avengers to engage in some pre-schadenfreude smack down of The Dark Knight Rises. A Fandango user survey making the rounds indicates that movie-goers are more psyched to see The Avengers than they are The Dark Knight Rises, while making no mention of the fact that Batman still comes in at a more than respectable #2…(via The LA Times and Box Office Magazine)

Bane vs. Batman (image via IGN)

While we’re on the subject of the Big Bad Bat, Tom Hardy, who will be playing the hella villainous Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, did an interview this week with EW. Also, here is a cool pic of Bane and Batman facing off (via EW and IGN) Batman and Bane photo via IGN

My boyfriend, Joseph Gordon Levitt told MTV that Looper is the best work he’s ever done. I agree with whatever he has to say about that since it’s all Brick influenced and I just like reading about him talking (via MTV moviesblog)

James Cameron WILL NOT BE STOPPED from bringing the celebrated cyberpunk manga Battle Angel Alita to the big screen. No way, no how. Just not right now, ok? (via Spinoff Online)

Did you know Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) is totally preggo with Stephen Moyer’s (Bill Compton) spawn !? Lucky for HBO, her baby weight won’t be screwing up too many True Blood sex scenes due to harmonious baby and production schedules. Btw, here is a clip from Season 5 which premieres this Summer (via BuddyTV and ComingSoon.net)

Rosario Dawson and Mickey Rourke are both confirmed for the Sin City sequel (via Spinoff Online)

Director Marc Webb is talking up The Amazing Spiderman again. This week to Yahoo! Movies

And to close out the week, I really have been remiss in routing Prometheus new items, so here is a link to video of a press conference with high profile cast members and another one with interviews. Enjoy! (via PrometheusForum.net and EmpireOnline)

  1. That was like a year of info for me. I have been away for a little while. I can’t wait to see any of the above mentioned movies however I think Prometheus will be the most anticipated for me.
