Casting for the upcoming Stargirl series on the DC Universe streaming platform keeps trucking along, and today the service announced the biggest name yet for the series. Deadline reports that Luke Wilson, star of films like Old School, The Royal Tenenbaums, and terrifying glimpse of the future Idiocracy, has been cast as Pat Dugan, aka S.T.R.I.P.E.

Dugan is step-father and, as the armored S.T.R.I.P.E., crime-fighting partner to titular Stargirl Courtney Whitmore, played by Brec Bassinger, and former sidekick of Sylvester Pemberton, originally the Star-Spangled Kid and later Starman, played by Joel McHale on the series. Wilson joins other recent additions to the series including Lou Ferrigno, Jr. as Hourman and Henry Thomas as Dr. Mid-Nite.

The DC Universe streaming service already boasts big names like Timothy Dalton and Brendan Fraser on another of its series, Doom Patrol. With Disney/Marvel gearing up for streaming TV series of its own featuring MCU characters and actors, adding a star like Wilson—still a recognizable name, if not as big as he once was—is a sign that DC Universe is ready to compete.

A release date for Stargirl has yet to be set.
