One think that’s nice about the more easy going Disney regime at Lucasfilms is that jokes like Jaxxon, the eight foot tall green rabbit who starred in Star Wars #8 in 1978–the most anticipated comic book of all time–now has a second life as our very own Jar Jar. And playing to that stereotype, Chip Zdarsky has drawn a variant cover for Vader Down #1 featuring Jaxxon in place of Luke in one of the OG trilogy’s most iconic scenes.

When Darth Vader accidentally finds himself facing off against the Rebel Fleet on his own, the Rebels will learn the true strength of the Dark Side of the Force! Once Vader crashes on a nearby planet, the Rebellion is willing to risk everything for this once-in-a-lifetime chance to take out one of their biggest enemies! Be there as this can’t miss crossover event begins in the oversized VADER DOWN #1 this November and continues in the pages of STAR WARS and DARTH VADER!

IS THAT BIG ENEMY JAXXON?

A: No.

But a giant green rabbit makes everything better.

  1. Pity it’s just on variant covers most people won’t be able to get (and those who do will pay premium prices!). I hate that stupid trend.
