This weekend’s Saturday Night Live featured guest host Jeremy Renner who was all too happy to reprise his role as Hawkeye in a very amusing AVENGERS spoof that also featured Jason Sudeikis as Iron Man, Bill Hader as Thor, Bobby Moynihan as the Hulk, Taran Killam as Captain America, Kate McKinnon as a dead-on Black Widow, Jay Pharoah as Nick Fury, and Vanessa Bayer as Maria Hill. The spoof raises questions again about just how Black Widow and a guy with some arrows can compete with a god, a monster, and a man in a flying suit. Hader and SNL head writer Seth Myers are both huge comics fans who have written for Marvel, so the humor hitting its target isn’t a big surprise.

Wow. Not even remotely funny. Better then that weird State Farm/Avengers ad they were running a few months ago…. but not by much.

It wasn’t my favorite show of the season, but I still loved Jeremy Renner on SNL. Kate McKinnon was really good at playing Black Widow, so it’s good that she supported him a lot. I wasn’t able to see the show live since I was working late at DISH that night. A while back, I set up my Hopper from DISH to automatically record the show and watched it the next morning. Its nice being able to have the entire season on my DVR with more than enough recording space left to record the rest of the season of SNL and then more. I loved Jeremy Renner on the show, and I hope he hosts again soon!
