If the announcement of new Umbrella Academy merchandise or SDCC exclusives wasn’t enough for you, today Dark Horse has announced that Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá are returning with a brand-new Umbrella Academy miniseries. Colorist Nick Filardi joins the original team of Way, Bá, and letterer Nate Piekos for Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion, a seven-issue miniseries and the third in the award-winning series.

The official press release from Dark Horse is somewhat light on details beyond the team having split up after the events of the previous series, which wrapped up nearly ten years ago. It’s not a surprise that Dark Horse, Way, and Bá would want to return the series given its continued popularity both with fans and critics, as well as the forthcoming Netflix adaptation. What this new series means for when we’ll get more Doom Patrol from Way is another question, though it’s likely between this news and Nick Derington working on Brian Michael Bendis’s Walmart Batman story that it’ll be a little while before Casey, Cliff, Flex, and the gang return.

Check out the full cover and a handful of preview pages, as well as the official release from Dark Horse, below, and look for Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion in stores at the beginning of October.

MILWAUKIE, Ore., (July 10, 2018)—The wunderkind brood returns in The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion! Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, Doom Patrol) and Gabriel Bá (Two Brothers, Neil Gaiman’s How to Talk to Girls at Parties) will return to their Harvey, Eisner, and YALSA award winning and critically acclaimed series with colorist Nick Filardi (Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread, The Victories), and letterer Nate Piekos (Stranger Things, Briggs Land) signed on to bring more Umbrella Academy adventures to life! With a Netflix series soon to debut, the best-selling superhero series returns, stranger than ever—and our heroes’ pasts are coming back to hunt them.

The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion finds the Umbrella Academy scattered after Sir Reginald Hargreeves’ death.
