Yep, it’s that time of year. Comic-Con is coming! I haven’t been delving into all the specifics yet but as in year’s past there will be a ton of offsites, and this year, a NEW one involving kitty cats. Last night I noted that there’s a cat cafe on Island near the Horton Grand, and this year the Cat Cafe is getting into the act with a Cat Cafe Coffee and Kitties event that runs all four days of the show:

If you think you’ll be missing your furry feline friends at Comic-Con, then make a pitstop to The Cat Cafe for coffee and kitties during Comic-Con.

The cafe is even offering a Comic-Con Special: for $15, you’ll get a drink or food item, and a chance to spend 30 minutes with friendly cats from San Diego Humane Society. They’re offering spots of 15 people from 8:30AM-3:30 on Thursday-Sunday, and you can reserve your spot now on Eventbrite.

You can buy a ticket here. God knows, we’d all benefit from cuddling a kitty as the madness unfolds around us.

I’m not going to run down all the other offsites — here’s an event calendar — but in addition to the usual Kevin Smith, Nerdist and Wil Wheaton events, there will be concerts by Slayer, Weird Al and Blink 182, a Star Trek art exhibit and some kind of massive Amazon Activation. Nerd HQ will be back at the Children’s Museum and doubtless other things still undreamed of. Who knows? Maybe this will be the year I get a breakfast burrito!
