Although it was teased almost immediately after the end of Batman Eternal, DC finally officially announced the sequel to the hit series today.  Batman & Robin Eternal will begin this October for a scheduled six month run of weekly issues.

Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV, the series heads of the original Eternal series, will return to plot and write this one.  They will be joined by a bevy of new writers, including Grayson‘s co-writer Tim Seeley, Catwoman‘s Genevieve Valentine, Midnighter‘s Steve Orlando, Sheltered‘s Ed Brisson, and Hacktivist‘s co-writers Jackson Lanzing and Colin Kelly.

Tony S. Daniel will be the lead artist for the title, with Paul Pelletier and Scot Eaton also scheduled to produce art for the series.

In addition, DC also announced The Robin War, which will begin in December and is set for a five week run.  This crossover event will run across Gotham AcademyRobin: Son of Gotham, and We are Robin.  It will be bookended by two one-shots written by the other Grayson co-writer, Tom King.  Khary Randolph is set to produce art for the series, with more artist announcements to follow.
