Hank Azaria was surreptitiously filmed in his role as Gargamel in the upcoming Smurfs movie, and as you can see, it is a chilling portrayal of ultimate evil that will scar our nightmares.

Actually, it is quite terrifying.

The Smurfs movie — based on the beloved characters of Belgian cartoonist Peyo — is planned for release next year and will be a 3D/CGI/Liveaction mish mash mosh. The director, Raja Gosnell, previously directed BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA, the two Scooby Doo movies and BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE, so in all fairness, he really knows how to take charge of filming brain-destroying pap.

  1. The Smurfs were a world-famous comic strip/graphic novel series for decades before they arrived in the U.S. as a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
They were illustrated by “Peyo” and his assistants.
Where the cartoon is generally moronic and group-thinky, the comic strips are pretty funny and irreverant.
