There’s probably a whole marketing treatise to be written about how Disney identified Rocket Raccoon and his tree buddy Groot as the breakout stars of Guardians of the Galaxy and leveraged them all across the Disney universe. I mean it wasn’t rocket science (sorry) but it’s one of the reasons Disney bought Marvel in the first place.
The much loved duo will now star in a series of 12 animated shorts that will be released as a compilation on Disney XD at 7:00am ET/PT on April 10. But before that you can watch the first four on the Disney XD app, starting March 27th. Or watch the frist one, above, courtesy of EW.
The story finds Rocket and Groot trying to figure out how to get enough credits to buy a new ship after their old one breaks down.
