Repo 2
“Page out of a comic book
A chicken hanging on a hook
…I’ll tell you who I am, I’m the repo man”

ICv2 reports that reports that ultra cult film REPO MAN will finally see its sequel developed as a graphic novel from Australian house Gestalt.

Gestalt Publishing has announced that director Alex Cox, who helmed the 1984 cult hit movie Repo Man, has turned his un-produced screenplay, Waldo’s Hawaiian Holiday, into a graphic novel, which Gestalt plans to publish in the fourth quarter of 2007. Cox planned to film Waldo’s Hawaiian Holiday in the mid-1990s with the original Repo Man principals, Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton, reprising their roles in a gritty sequel, but the financing fell through, so the project will live on as a graphic novel.

If you never saw REPO MAN, well…you kinda had to be there…”Suppose you’re thinkin’ about a plate o’ shrimp. Suddenly someone’ll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o’ shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin’ for one, either. It’s all part of a cosmic unconciousness.” So many memories from the Beat’s very well spent youth…Dick Rude…Keith Morris…Bell Gardens…the Anti-Club…

“Sometimes I try to do things and it just doesn’t work out the way I wanted to.
I get real frustrated and I try hard to do it and I take my time and it doesn’t work out the way I wanted to.”

  1. Su-weet! I’ll trust Alex Cox to convert this, no questions asked. Plus it’d be cool if he had another Circle Jerks cameo in the book!

  2. Here at Green Brain Comics we loves the Repo Man like a second child.
First REPO by Rick Spears and Rob G. (Which has nothing to do with the aforementioned movie, absolutely nothing. Right?) And now this.
