On April 18th, DC Comics will release Action Comics #1000. As part of a massive celebration of this singular milestone in comics publishing, DC plans to expand the page count of this comic to an 80-page special that features, as the Beat has detailed in the past, an incredible list of talent including Peter Tomasi, Pat Gleason, Richard Donner, Geoff Johns, Oliver Coipel, and more coming together to tell new stories about the Man of Steel.

As part of the promotional campaign for the issue #1000 celebration, today DC Comics released one of the special 5-page backup stories from Action Comics #1000 for you to read right now. “Of Tomorrow,” by Tom King, Clay Mann, Jordie Bellaire, and John Workman, is “a poignant and touching story about Superman’s final conversation and tribute to the loving Kansas couple that rescued him and raised him as their own so many years ago.”

You can read this story right now at DC’s site. Enjoy.

  1. Aw, that was really great. I haven’t read DC in so long. If only they’d have an option like Marvel Unlimited. Floppies are too expensive, and I’m a dad now, yadda, yadda.
