At the start of 2017, Batwoman will face new challenges, new enemies, and a new beginning.  In Detective Comics #948 and #949, series writer James Tynion IV will team up with Marguerite Bennett and artist Ben Oliver for a special “Batwoman Begins” interlude arc.  This arc will see Batwoman investigating a secret base A.R.G.U.S. has created in the wake of the “Night of the Monster Men” event. This base is centered “around the corpse of the megamonster that collapsed in Gotham Harbor…creating Gotham City’s newest and most dangerous neighborhood, Monstertown!”

This storyline will lead into Batwoman, a new regular series centered around Kate Kane’s superheroic journey. Her Rebirth begins on February 15th.

Solicitations and cover art for the first two issues of Batwoman are below.  Be sure to check out a bonus preview of Detective Comics #948 after the jump.

  1. Julia was brought back during Batman Eternal in 2014 and has since played supporting roles in the Bat-verse titles, particularly in the ones that Scott Snyder was writing.

  2. I’m excited for the next two issues of ‘Detective’ and psyched for Batwoman getting her own series come February 15. She has been one of the best and most consistent characters in ‘Detective Comics’ and it’ll be interesting to see where her solo title will lead us.
